- I received my first sewing machine when I was 20 years old. It was a gift from my mother for my birthday. At that time I had a three year old daughter. All I wanted to do was make cute dresses for her and maybe some pillows for my living room. That's a pretty typical story for most of us seamstresses. My hobby turned into my passion, or perhaps I should say, addiction! I can remember when I first started and couldn't read a pattern or even know what the term "notion" meant. I tried to make anything I could get my hands on. From childrens clothes to guitar cases to quilts. After a lot of trial, error, and of course persistence, I have created a business in interior design. Soft interior design to be exact.
